Prof. Katsuyoshi Kondoh, works atJoining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI) in Osaka University. Prof. Kondoh obtained his M.S. degree from Osaka University in 1988. He worked on powder metallurgy processing in R&D center of Sumitomo Electric Industries from 1988 to 2000. After completing his Ph.D inOsaka University in2001, Prof. Kondoh joined the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo as an associate professor. Prof. Kondoh worked at JWRI in Osaka University in 2006, and he currently is the Vice Executive Director in charge of Global Engagement in Osaka University. His current main research fields are focus on both of the effective reuse of resources and energy including renewable ones and reduction of life hazardous materials and air pollutions. In particular, by controlling the interfacial mechanics and high-performance of materials, atomic/nano-scale composite materials and processing designs for the environmentally benign are established, and applied to innovative industrial development.Prof. Kondoh is principal investigator of more than 22 national grade and interprise cooperating projects.Hehas published more than 308 journal papers, and was granted 66 Awards, attending112 international conference oral presentations including 30 invited talking and plenary lecture.
